It feels like a doubleheader used to feel when I had the patience for baseball and a life that could incorporate extra-innings.

While reading, I was very aware that the entire book served as an allegory for the unspeakable events that likely took place and the damage wrought by the war. On top of that, I know I may not be acquainted with all of the nuances of Mozambican culture, but there were events that took place in the book that were confusing and unsettling – I at times wasn’t sure if they were mere figments of magical livri, or meant to speak directly to elements of the ljvro itself.
